The President by Wayne Horvitz
This was my second album for Dossier and the first recording under the name “The President”. Unlike the album “Bring Yr Camera”, which followed, this album was not made in a studio, but rather the 4th floor apartment of a friend where I kept an 8-track reel to reel tape machine. The budget for this album was literally 1/50th of the Bring Yr Camera, and they both have their virtues. I love how everyone plays on this album, and it has some of my very favorite compositions for this band.
For those who know the album “This New Generation”, that release was essentially the entire “Dinner at Eight” album for Dossier plus a lot of this album, and was the first thing Nonesuch released when I joined the label.
