Replicator II by UCNX
Remix albums and cover songs are well known in the electronic/industrial music scene, but east coast based act UCNX return with another entry in their 'Replicator' series, that fuses both concepts together the same way they fuse EBM, industrial, coldwave, techno, and other styles of electronic music together in their aural arsenal.
Feeling that standard remix albums and cover collections are too limited in their scope and re-listening ability, the 'Replicator' series acts as a double meaning of the word. As a result, each entry maintains the complexity and care for UCNX's own material and matches it with a respect for history that few other bands can achieve. From the scathing EBM assaults of their take on Numb's "Complicit Silence" (featuring a cameo from fellow industrialist Stoneburner) and Ministry's "You Know What You Are", to the intricate electronics of 242's "Gripped by Fear" and Out Out's remix of SWYD, to the storming I-rock version of "Relentless" by Der Prosector...and even a couple eyebrow-raising surprises to boot.
This is the 2nd in a series. The past, present, and future of electro/industrial/music all rolled into one. Another addition to the UCNX sonic gospel.
