Fern Stories by Murkok

Ilya Glebov (Murkok, Pregnant Pause) is not only a musician but also a curator who, in 2016–2017, released artists from across the globe on his label Fern Leaf. Despite its short history, this example became a lasting source of inspiration for Sumbur — a reference point both in sound and in the precision of presentation.

This selection of tracks offers an introduction to Ilya’s extensive discography, which spans over 30 releases. It brings together thoughtful drones, piano and guitar lines, rhythmic patterns, and field recordings — a broad spectrum of the artist’s creative ambitions. Yet it doesn’t come across as a scattered mosaic. Instead, it feels like an imagined album: a tracklist curated as an aesthetically self-contained work, capable of telling its own story.

Sumbur is a Stavropol-based ambient label, ranging from delicate «warm» sounds to post-digital aesthetics.
