Weaving Waves by Anil Eraslan + Michael Thieke

Born from a shared attention to silence, breath and resonance, the duo explores a fragile and intimate sound where improvised textures unfold with patience. Their music develops with delicate harmonics, minimalist gestures, and dense layers of whispering tones, occasionally pierced by bursts of raw, energetic interplay. Eraslan and Thieke invite listeners into a space where the action of listening joins to a subtle dialogue suspended in time.
The 14 pieces represent the entire recording session, in the original sequence and without any editing, as if it was a concert without an audience.


The Berlin-based clarinettist/composer/performer Michael Thieke is equally at home across a broad range of musical environments, such as experimental song forms, collectively composing projects, improvising collectives, and music on the fringes of jazz. He is exploring the minutiae of sound, timbre and noise, with a particular interest in microtonality and related sound phenomena. The qualities of slowness are another field of his research. He has a preference for long-term collaborations and collective work.

Cellist, improviser and composer Anil Eraslan is working on various musical projects between Berlin, Paris, Strasbourg and Istanbul. From Anatolian traditional music to experimental/noise/free music, he multiplies his experiences with many ensembles and creative musicians from all over the world.
