Laniakea by Pascal Lamarche

C’est avec joie et une profonde gratitude que je vous présente mon album Laniakea.

Laniakea est un mot hawaïen qui signifie « horizon céleste immense » ou « paradis incommensurable ». Notre galaxie appartient à un superamas de galaxies qui s’étendrait sur près de 500 millions d’années-lumière et contiendrait plus de 100 000 galaxies. Des cartographes parviennent peu à peu à tracer les contours de ce « continent » cosmique nommé Laniakea.

La musique que je vous partage dans cet opus est de nature piano instrumental, agrémentée pour certaines pièces d’accompagnements atmosphériques et aussi de mini-orchestrations. Fruit de compositions et aussi d'improvisations (certaines retouchées et d'autres non) c’est un mélange de plusieurs textures musicales qui s’agencent harmonieusement pour raconter une histoire à la fois uniforme dans son ensemble et riche dans ses différences… Comme on peut s’imaginer à quel point les autres recoins de cet univers ont des histoires à raconter, je vous partage ici un peu de la mienne – avec toutes ses imperfections, sa simplicité, mais aussi avec honnêteté et passion. Je ne suis qu’un simple humain qui souhaite vivre et partager, avec mes frères et sœurs humains, le peu de temps que nous avons sur ce petit point dans l’univers infini qu’est la Terre, dans Laniakea.

Laniakea is a Hawaiian word that means “immense celestial horizon” or “incomparable paradise” Our galaxy belongs to a supercluster of galaxies that stretches over nearly 500 million light-years and contains more than 100,000 galaxies Cartographers are gradually managing to map out the contours of this cosmic “continent” called Laniakea

The music I share with you in this opus is of a piano instrumental nature, sometimes embellished with atmospheric accompaniments and mini-orchestrations Born from both composition and improvisation (some reworked and others not), it is a blend of several musical textures that harmoniously come together to tell a story that is uniform as a whole, yet rich in its differences… Just as we can imagine how many other corners of our universe have stories to tell, I share here a bit of mine—with all it's imperfections, it's simplicity, but also with honesty and passion Because I am only a human who wishes to live and share, with my fellow human brothers and sisters, the little time we have on this tiny spot in the infinite universe that is Earth, within Laniakea
