Blank by MOVION

The desire to contaminate and mix post rock’s electro-acoustic aspects with the electronic sounds of minimal techno and synthwave are pivotal to “Blank”, the band’s second studio album. During the two-year composition, the trio attempted to combine the influences from the music they have been listening to with their idea of sound, as they wanted to go beyond the essentially post-rock attitude that characterized their first album.
The 9 tracks contained in this album portray Movion’s perspective on music, aiming at the coexistence and real balance between synthetic atmospheres and acoustic soundscapes, outdoing contemporary instrumental rock standards.
The idea of conveying through music the imagery that inspired the work has been central in the sound research process. The recurring theme of the study and analysis of perception is evoked many times throughout “Blank” by vocal samples from John Cage, David Cronenberg and Stan Brakhage.

Movion is an instrumental/experimental livelooping trio formed in Turin (Italy) in 2012.

Movion’s perspective on music is aiming at the coexistence and real balance between synthetic atmospheres and acoustic soundscapes, through a sonic narrative strongly driven by emotion and psychedelia.
