Damned Rejects by Monty Oxymoron
These are pieces I created in the hope they’d be used by the Damned but didn’t make it. I put a lot of work into them and I think it’s time they got heard! “Going Down” was a song about fin de siecle anxiety leading up to the year 2000 partly inspired by the X-Files; “Forbidden Fruit” is about temptations, “Capital Punishment” is lamenting our political predicament; “Dr Death” is Dr Shipman. The other two are instrumentals. The name “Brighton and the South” is the reverse of “Hatfield and the North” as Julian said it reminded him of their music.

Monty Oxymoron keyboardist for the Damned since 1996, Monty is a multi-instrumentalist who’s musical range is as diverse as the instruments he plays keyboards, piano, organ, guitar, Bass, clarinet, veena, marimba, and all sorts of hand percussion. Heavily influenced by British psychedelia of the 60’s, prog and punk of the 70’s Monty merges rhythms to create a kaleidoscope of sounds.
