Rusty train bridge, open wide
Broken rail on a busted line
Line that don’t run any more
Never seen the bridge from the river before

At your signal my strokes are few
Crank the wheel let the water through
Like my dream, the gates are closed
I was at the bottom when the river rose

You who lock me through the gate
Master of my river fate
Up the Katarokwi rise
Down the Styx, pay your tithe

Hear the roar above my head
Echo sing the words we said
401 looks fortified
Underbelly shown to the river side

At the night I come back home
Is this where I’m from or where I’m going?
Anchored to this river town
If you keep hanging on we’re both goin’ down

From the penitentiary I see pleasure craft tourists go by
Cautionary dead head trees, drowned by the Colonel John By
