Welcome to the dream. the priests will shuffle in one by one all wearing matching blue petticoats tied at the waist drinking the same decaffeinated tea. you've got the silver, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Play it close, but not too close. Don't defy gravity, or gravity will defy you. We love you very much, hope to see you soon down the dirty dusty road. Listen man, I am neither here nor there, there nor here. I'm upside down all turned around but at least i can still hear out of my right ear. let it all fall away, you don't need it anymore. you cannot carry it with you.

step into the saloon and lick the cosmic grass. order a drink and dont even think too much about it. look down at your feet and you left em in the street but it still dont matter very much. youre floatin. youre just cruising on the midnight stripe and you got nowhere to be and no character to play. you look around and a couple people are dancing in the smokey red room all lit up in flourescent neon. silver moonlight a' glowin and a' shinin' thru the open window pane. curtains are mostly drawn for the night but a few are left open to give the place some atmosphere. there's a cowboy in the corner sipping scotch, talkin to the gatekeeper about horses and such. the lunar sludge band is a playin on just a moving and a groovin on just flying right thru that old wooden ceiling straight thru it on up into the sky all cosmic like. Just penetrating right thru the ether and comin out the other side. and suddenly you start dancin too, you dont know what's come over you, youve never felt like this before but you love it and it feels somehow familiar like a vision from another life on a different planet long ago. everybodys waiting tryin to get their share and everybody's just a' growin out their hair. "come on baby, play that good time rock and roll alright" ? who said that? who knows? "anything for you hun...Sammy the priest loves this song anyway"

anyway, its gettin late when magic alex just comes flying thru the window on his board straight from the terminal askin' about cigarettes and coffee and other things of the sort. the priest just giggles and looks at his watch. "pass me the soup du jour, beast. I'm tryin' to bleach my trousers." Suddenly the Crane himself come in thru the backdoor lookin for his shoes, magic alex has got em in his pocket, unbeknownst to myself and others, and begins to laugh hysterically. Ulysses looks up from behind his newspaper and mumbles, "yes, i could catch that fever," before turning to martha and ordering a coke on rye. she smiles and says, "anything for you blue." how strange, how very very strange. the Crane goes about his business, starts setting up on the floor, gettin all ready for the party. its gonna be a good show, you can feel it before it happens. Santa Ana is in the backyard practicing her scales and picking rosemary to tuck in her shirt pocket. "helps keep things rollin," she says to the priest, snickering a little bit at the absurdity of it all. Just then, the building starts shaking, all the wooden beams are heavin' and a' moanin, and Vincenzo bursts thru the door looking for the maitre de, she's got his pencils and he needs them to tuck his children into bed. "i've got the shraker man, don't worry about a thing." Rockafeller comes in carryin' his amplifier and a guitar case (it's empty). When the captain asks him where he's goin he simply smiles and says "here i am, baby. gonna rock it like a fuckin' hurricaine in the swamplands, fuckin' water flyin' everywhere in the great primordial soup, right in the vein oh yea." "where's your guitar?" "well i left it in the car, see, i'm too high see, i left everything at home," and he just keeps on mumblin in that manner as he flies up thru the chimney.

Fly like an eagle soaring thru the sky, higher higher higher, and keep your hands inside of your feet at all times.

If you read the whole thing front to back and back to front the picture shall become clear.

This album is very special to us. We made it slowly over the course of the second year of the pandemic times, all throughout the winter spring summer and fall of 2021. it was all organic, we recorded songs a bunch of times a bunch of different ways not really knowin where we were goin, chipping away not thinking too much about nothin', trusting the picture would become clearer as we went. our friends and bandmates were poppin' in all the time, adding a little of this a little of that. the Great Panama came by and played a drum kit made of kitchen pots and pans. Ulysses himself came flyin' thru and dropped a song in our laps. Vincenzo was there the whole time, shraking away and keepin' it real with his immaculately positive vibrations. Santa Ana was hangin all the time, listenin' and lending her beautiful voice to a couple a' songs.

anyway, all this to say, we cooked up a couple of things and we hope you dig em.

Wandering alone in the desert, treading thru the soft solitary night, crystalline silence of the mind, impenetrable as an atom, stars shining down bright, the heavenly light surrounds you completely. You are nowhere. The Lunar Sludge Band plays all night long forever and ever, they're always changin, people always comin and goin and comin back again. But the band plays on long after we're gone.
