CASSINI 001 by KNRD / Mr. Jones
Newcastle-based party starters Cassini make their first foray into the label game, showing off their penchant for brooding electro and techno with a split 12” EP from founder Mr. Jones and new member KNRD.
The former kicks off the A-side with the floor-focused “Through the Window,” all chunky drums and sinister synth motifs, before KNRD joins the party with “Torque Master,” a moody progressive track that slowly unfurls over seven minutes.
He takes the lead on the B1 with the standout “Binary Printer,” a sprawling opus punctuated by wiggy vocals and wonky acid lines, before Mr. Jones brings things home with “Zero Sum,” a sleek slice of spaced-out breakbeat.
