Soul Landscapes by Alex Ringess

My virtual Tape exploration is still on its way.
In this album, I pushed it a bit more forward by the usage of reel tape simulation, aka tape loopers, with vst and Max 4 Live plugins, like Maze (it is a very affordable Max 4 Live device) or Enso Looper.
I used them to create loops, extracted them as wav files and made sound collages in the Daw.
So there's bits of these sound collages in mostly each tracks here and there, in a different amount (for example, Soul Landscape 5 has been made with 80% of them).
I also created a preset for the Valhalla Supermassive reverb that act mostly like a 4 bars looper.
All of that was processed throught the usual tape effect chain I used since Liminal Abstractions.

About composition.
This album is parted between minimalist tracks (minimalist in the sense of the musical movement) and some more melodic tracks. This is not a pure minimalist album, but kinda. It is very repetitive with slight and discreet variations. And still ambient.

For those of you who want to buy this album, you'll get a bonus track in the package. It's an Industrial House remix of the track Soul Landscape 1. First I wanted to put it at the end of the album but I made the 5th track two days before the album's release and I found it good to close the album.
